Amazon’s Falls Township project has put data centers into the local conversation. In my first Inside Bucks County video, I look at the project’s status and the questions about electric bills. There’s also a closer look at how nearby townships are responding.
Why it matters: A project’s local approval and its environmental permits are different steps. Pennsylvania’s August 18 order changes the state’s review process.
What’s next: Watch for actual permit decisions and township rules. Claims about a specific home’s future value deserve more evidence than a headline.

Woodbourne Road work runs overnight

PennDOT has milling scheduled on Woodbourne Road between Cobalt Ridge Drive and Big Oak Road through Friday, September 18. The work window is 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, with flaggers and a lane closure. Leave extra time if that stretch is part of your evening drive. The schedule depends on weather.
Free leaf bags, with one important step

Buckingham Township’s September 14 notice says free leaf bags are available for residents during weekday office hours, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Make sure your name is on the township’s pickup list. Use the bags for leaves and plant material. Keep them manageable and out of your regular trash collection.
Know a young neighbor who shows up?

Nominations opened September 10 for the borough’s Youth Leadership Award. It recognizes young people making a difference through volunteering and leadership. If someone comes to mind, the borough has a short nomination form. The deadline is November 1, so there’s time to put together a thoughtful nomination.
A new place for the clothes worth keeping

Stitch & Style Studio has its ribbon cutting Saturday, September 19, at 10:30 a.m. The new tailoring and custom-clothing business is at 10 S. State Street, Unit 2. The Newtown Business Association welcomes the public and asks attendees to register. A useful addition if your favorite jacket needs an alteration instead of a replacement.

A weekend built around scarecrows

Peddler’s Village’s Scarecrow Festival runs Saturday and Sunday, September 19–20, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Lahaska. Admission and parking are free, with some activities priced separately. There’s pumpkin painting and live music alongside the village’s outdoor scarecrow display. Scarecrow-making workshops require a reservation, so book ahead if bringing one home is the plan. The festival goes ahead rain or shine; shops stay open until 8 p.m. Saturday.

For a dinner stop after Thursday’s concert, Poco’s at 625 N. Main Street has more than the expected tacos. Its current online menu lists Steamed Mussels Mexicali with chorizo in a garlic-chipotle beer broth and French bread for $16. Prefer tacos? The fish tacos are listed at $20. Those are posted online prices, so check the menu when ordering. The kitchen is open Thursday 4–9 p.m. and Friday 4–10 p.m.; Saturday starts at 11:30 a.m.
