Plumstead's public hearing notice says Terence Froman is seeking a zoning variance for townhouses at Easton Road and Kratz Carriage Road in Pipersville.

Why it matters: The township notice puts the proposal at 14 homes. The requested exception concerns a rule requiring mixed uses for certain developments with more than six units. This hearing is a step in the zoning process. It doesn't mean construction has been approved.

What's next: The notice schedules the hearing for September 16 at 7 p.m., at the municipal building, 5186 Stump Road. The application is available there for public inspection.

New Britain Township says New Galena Road is scheduled to close between Limekiln Pike and Callowhill Road on weekdays through September 25, from 7 a.m.–4 p.m., weather permitting, for PennDOT base repairs.

Plan ahead: This affects a stretch of New Galena, not the entire road. The township notice includes the official detour. Check it before heading out.

The Doylestown Farmers Market says it will be closed September 12 for the arts festival. It returns September 19 with its Oktoberfest celebration.

Your alternative: Wrightstown and Yardley are on the weekend list below. You can still get the grocery run done. Just don't head to South Hamilton Street expecting the usual market tents.

A development to keep on the watch list: Falls Township's August 25 report describes authorization to advertise a potential zoning change for a Nuuly warehouse proposal. It also says a land-development plan had not been submitted at that point.

The distinction: That was an advertising step, not final project approval. A confirmed next hearing date is still needed before this gets an update headline.

The Bucks County Area Agency on Aging lists September 30 as the end of senior-center distribution for its income-qualified farmers market vouchers, subject to availability.

An earlier date matters: If a center has run out, the county says to request a mailed application before September 15. Its notice has the eligibility details and contact number. Worth forwarding to someone who could use it.

The Doylestown Arts Festival returns Saturday and Sunday with artists downtown and live music. The festival lists September 12–13, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. both days, with free admission, rain or shine.

Here's the useful part: downtown streets will close. The organizer's parking guide lists free parking at Central Bucks West and a free DART shuttle running during festival hours. Choose your parking before you choose your lunch.

For a Saturday lunch option near the festival, Carve 52's own menu lists its slow-roasted beef sandwich at $18.50, with sharp provolone and house au jus. Caramelized onions come on it too.

The practical detail: the restaurant lists its regular hours as Tuesday–Saturday, 11 a.m.–3:30 p.m., at 52 East State Street. Sunday is listed as closed. So if this is your lunch plan, make it Saturday, and check for any festival-weekend changes before going.
